The best student parties take place at the IQ Studentenkeller, the Jugendkulturfabrik, and the Fontane-Klub. All three are close to the university campus. The Altstadt-Pub and other pubs in the area are also popular with students. Brandenburg is known for its well-preserved natural spaces and has been enforcing environmental protection regulations since the 1990’s. It includes 15 large protected areas. Each has its own private administration staff and even park rangers, who guide tourists and protect the environment.
